At Onionhead® & Company, we are committed to the education and engagement of emotions while being environmentally conscious at all times. Onionhead®’s product lines now include books, collectibles, toys, and games.
We believe that every child deserves the right to reach their full potential. The key to ensuring that kind of future is cultivating the ability to navigate through feelings appropriately. We help kids to learn how to become great communicators by nurturing their problem solving skills and conflict resolution options.
We have always been ahead of regulations designed to protect our children and environment, including the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA). Our printed material is made on either tree free or 100% recycled paper. Our products are proudly made in the U.S.A.
Onionhead® was developed by a mother-daughter team over 15 years ago. The mother, a counselor herself, conceived the idea for adults. Her 2 year old grandson, considered a spectrum child, demanded that Onionhead® be done for children. So the daughter, an artist and writer, birthed the character. They used some of their challenging life experiences and their loving relationship in the “face” of these difficulties as a basis for this character. After many years, the Onionhead® family has grown and each member holds up love and accountability not only for what we do but how we do it. We run our corporation like a family. We do not base our decisions on how much money we will “realize” but on how many children we will “onionize”.
For the children of the developed world, Onionhead®’s desire is that they become great communicators in order to have a successful future. For the children of the developing world, we want to ensure that they have a future. Every 15 seconds a child dies from lack of clean water. Our sister non-profit, Save the Rain, teaches water deprived communities to catch and use the rain as a sustainable water supply. From your purchase of any Onionhead® product, a percentage is donated to Save the Rain. Therefore, not only is your child learning social emotional development skills, but they have also helped to save another child’s life. For more information, please visit www.savetherain.org.

“I showed my autistic son the Onionhead® cards yesterday and we played for hours. We did the memory game, making the faces for each positive feeling in alphabetical order. HE LOVED IT!”

“I used my Onionhead® cards in session today with a very guarded young lady whose comment to everything is "I don't know." I asked her to sort through the cards and pick out any that applied to her. After only three sessions using Onionhead®, she turned to me and said: ‘Now do you want to know why I feel this way?’ Thank you so much. These tools are wonderful!”
