Having registered an eight percent growth in sales since the beginning of the year to April 9th, the UK toy market is enjoying strong sales performance. As the NPD Group has revealed, the UK remains the largest toy market in Europe with the success of collectibles to thank for sector’s continued growth.

Almost 54 million toys have been sold since the beginning of 2016, with action figures and plush categories leading sales. Both are up 16% and 21%, respectively.

Star Wars has seen a 249% increase in the last three months compared to the same time last year, with over 2.1 million toys sold. The Star Wars and LEGO partnership has also proven successful, followed by Shopkins, Disney Frozen and Lego City.
