Hans Mayer plays music with an infectious sense of humor that really connects to kids and families. People of all ages are immediately attracted to his playful, fun-loving personality and his catchy songs. Singing and playing guitar, mandolin and Native American flute - and adding sound effects when the song calls for it - Hans has enchanted audiences across the country. His albums for families are hits with both kids and their parents. In 2007 his "Funny Little Creatures" CD was selected as a Parents' Choice Approved Title and as a 2008 Children's Music Web Award Winner.
Hans' songs really connect with kids because he can see everyday life through their eyes - the music, topics, and words are infectious and fun, providing tunes that really reach kids and entertain adults at the same time. On his sock monkey inspired album, "Funny Little Creatures," Hans gives his audience the funny, unforgettable tales of real-life childhood including splashing in puddles, stomping your flip-flops, digging for worms, making friends, and getting stuck in the muck. His warm vocals, ever present sense of fun, and accomplished instrumental work make for a CD that kids want to hear again and parents will, too.
In addition to children's music, Mayer has toured and recorded with Native American recording artist Bill Miller, appearing on the Today Show, Austin City Limits, the World Cafe and the PBS special, "Songs of the Spirit".

Reviews
“Hans knows what children care about, what they feel and how they
respond to music.”
- Jeanne Rhodenhizer
from Irving Pertzsch Elem. School

“The songs Mayer writes and performs capture a sense of fun and wonder while seeking to educate at the same time.”
- Annette C. Eshleman, Freelance Music Reviewer/Writer
“Hans Mayer continues his light, easy-listening story-singing for
youngsters on his seventh solo album ["Funny Little Creatures"]. The
ten original and three traditional songs cover everything from getting
stuck in the muck(“Grandpa’s Farm”) to aliens (“Funny Little
Creatures”).”
- School Library Journal, August, 2008, Stephanie Bange,
Wilmington-Stoop Branch,
Dayton Metro Library, Ohio
“Hans Mayer… covers a wide range of familiar topics -- weather, games, families, and general silliness -- and a few that are less common -- fist-fighting with siblings as a learning experience (Boxing in the Living Room), worm collecting for resale as bait (Night Crawlers) -- with a fresh take.”
